Scope and Content

1926 newspaper spread announcing the need for a new gym and plans for fundraising. A. W. Cordier is Chairman of the gym fundraising committee.  The basketball team is featured and the entire campus is highlighted in a spread on the verso.

Bio History Note

This article announces the benefits of having a new gymnasium and identifies the souces of income that will be needed to complete the project.  The basketball team is also featured.  On the verso is a pictorial overview of the College featuring a bird's eye view of the campus.  The pictures also show the Chime Tower, a Physical Culture Class (showing the need of a new gym), College Chapel (the new gym will provide a much larger community hall), Coach Stauffer, Girls' Dormitory, The Fountain, Track Events, Tennis Couts, Foot Ball team (a sport rapidly coming into its own here), photo montage of views in the College community.

The Gymnasium Committee was chaired by A. W. Cordier.
