Bio History Note

Isaac and Etta Oppenheim were pillars of the Town of North Manchester.  With his brother, Isaac operated Oppenheim's Department store on Main Street.  Oral tradition has it that Isaac and his brother eventually drew straws for the business, and his brother "won" the draw.  Isaac and Etta were significant donors to Manchester College, establishing a chair in the department of Mathematics.
