Bio History Note

In March 1998, a group made up of North Manchester community members began meeting with the purpose of "working together to make this a better community, a healthy community, a hospitable community."  The group included business owners, clergy, students, town council members, faculty members, civic organization members, teachers, and others.  The mission statement reads in part, "Our mission is to bring Manchester Together to value and respect the gifts, cultures, and heritage of all its members in a safe and healthy community."  --Quotes from a brochure entitled, "Manchester Together"
