Bio History Note

In Archives stacks prior to April 2006. These two photos probably came from the scrapbook of Ida Fields Neff...it was found on the same pile as pieces from Ida Fields Neff scrapbook.  There is also a reference to Ida as the writer of the description on the verso of one of the pictures: 

Professor Shutz & family

Professor Schutz pronounded with a German umlaudt over the u or Sheetz ...According to Ferne Baldwin Professor Schutz was a well known speaker. 

J. R. or J. Raymond Schutz, who began in 1919-20 for 25+ (not straight through) years was Mrs. Gary Deavel's father (Professor Gary Deavel of Manchester College). The family lived on College Ave., across from Helman (Eikenberry) Hall.  

One child in the picture might be Mrs. Gary Deavel, Charlotte Schutz, BA from MC in 1952.
