Bio History Note

Archivist, Thomas Hamm, purchased this diary at Fishers's Antiques in Shipshewana, Indiana.  Mr. Hamm recognized the author's college and donated the diary to the Manchester College Archives.  Jeanine Wine, Archivist, Manchester College called Jan Fishers, owner of Fishers's Antiques and Jan recognized the diary and the "box lot" it was a part of.  The diary was part of a box lot sold in Goshen, Indiana...it traveled to the antique store in Shipshewanna, Indiana...was purchased by Thomas Hamm...and then was donated to the Archives at Manchester College.

Teacher, Glenna Blosser Andrews, had been a big fan of Laura Ingalls Wilder and had traveled to the WIlder museum in North Dakota and had collected newspaper clippings and items purchased from the Wilder museum. The box lot contained much of the WIlder collection as well as the Blosser diary.  It is through this association that Jan had remembered this particular box lot.

Glenna Blosser:

Andrews graduated from the Normal Teachers program in 1937 and lived

in Nappanee, IN.  She is a retired teacher. Glenna is listed as a

substantial donor in Manchester College's 2006-2007 "President's Honor

Roll."  Her picture is in the "Aurora" yearbook.

On 29 May 2009 the Alumni Office lists her as living in Wakarusa, Indiana.
