Bio History NoteJoseph A. Cunnigham was a Manchester College alumnus from the Class of 1903, 1904? He and his sister, Mattie, were the first African-American students  at Manchester College.  Joseph was also the College's first African-American male to be a member of an athletic team, playing both basketball and baseball.  Joseph was Raised in the Church of the Brethren, He went on to be a practicing physician in Chicago.  He served on the Chicago Board of Health.
