Bio History NoteAlbert B. Ulrey laid the foundation for the teaching of science at Manchester College.  He was listed as one of the teachers in the spring of 1891 but was active in and around North Manchester prior to this (see W. R. Eberly's "The Story of the Natural Sciences at Manchester College").  Ulrey moved to California in 1901 to become the Chair of the Biology Department of the University of Southern California.
