Bio History Note

The District Women's Fellowship was eliminated due to lack of participation.  Women's Fellowship was started when women had no voice so that they could meet and have an impact on the world together.  They did what they could with the resouces that they had, including:

  • Quilting for relief or the needy.
  • Funeral dinners.
  • Food for any need.
  • Cancer pads and bandages.
  • Collecion of clothing for New Windsor for relief.
  • Companeros en Ministerio stamp project.

Women started having a voice within the church and started working to help support their families and were too busy to have another meeting.

Grace Voorheis came to reside at Timbercrest 14 years ago (current date is September 2011) and became involved in the Women's Fellowship right away.  She first served as Secretary and then Treasurer...and then as Secretary or Treasurer off and on for nearly 12 years.

Grace Voorheis is a Manchester College alumna, graduating in 1947.

Theresa Sites was President of Women's Fellowship for the entire time of Grace's service.

The final meeting of the Women's Fellowship was at Timbercrest Retirement Community and Carolyn Schumaker took remaining documents to make a historical report.

Information from Jeanine Wine's discussion with Grace Voorheis 28 September 2001.
