Scope and Content

A photo documentation of various construction projects. Not all these projects have been identified and there is speculation about the accuracy of identification.

  • Aerial view of campus showing trailer court housing, pre-East Hall and pre-Holl Kintner.
  • Bleachers
  • Moving Barn (in folder with bleachers).
  • Boiler - Temporary housing for boiler when building new Power Plant, 27 April 1967.
  • Boilers - basement of Winger building.
  • Koinonia - circa 1975-76. The new building was built on top of this old one. The old building is a dormitory in 2011.
  • Koinonia - Professor Bill Eberly with a group of children
  • President Schwalm looking at architectual plans.
  • President Schwalm at groundbreaking along with President Helman. This might be the groundbreaking for Holl-Kintner.
  • Moving in the SAFE in the Business Office, Administration Building.
  • Schwalm, Holl, Dr. Garman, and Garver at the possible groundbreaking of Holl-Kintner, with snow, 4 December 1950.
  • Gym and biology building.
  • Steamlines - being put near old tennis courts.
  • Old equipment.
  • Pouring foundation?
  • Unidentified -Surrounding land and construction.
  • Water Main - putting in the water main. It appears as if the gymnasium/auditorium is behind it.

  • Laying block of building on west side of old gymnasium/auditorium.
  • Foundations, identified and unidentified and Schwalm Hall.
  • Area around an dunder Schwalm Hall - pre-developed at start of construction, including: Groff Ave., site of Schwalm Hall along with College woods, College Woods and Schwalm parking lot, view from by Heckman Bindery from 9th Street.
  • Demolition and construction scenes.
  • An assortment of construction photographs: Rebar, foundation walls, concrete.
  • Electrical AC-DC convertor in Holl Kintner.
  • Junction Boxes in Ad Building, maybe on 3rd floor for speech work stations?

Bio History Note

This photo documentaion of smoothing earth, demolition, mixing and pouring concrete, shots of rebar and foundation walls. Some photos by Hoff are dated March 1965 and April 1967.

One photo shows a rather old truck from perhaps 1920 - 1940...research needs to be done.

Chris Garber has looked at these photographs briefly and has helped to identify some things.
