Scope and ContentOne souvenir booklet issued in commemoration of the dedication of the new Church of the Brethren building in Mt. Morris, Illinois, 1923.  It contains a dedicatory program, a commemorative and anniversary service of the Church of the Brethren in Mount Morris, Illinois, that took place on Sunday, 18 March 1923. It also holds pictures of members, lists of elders, pastors, ministers, a membership directory and historical sketches.

Bio History Note

Professor Neher taught Biology at Manchester College (1932-1954).  Prior to this he was an instructor at Mt. Morris College (1924-1932) but transferred to Manchester College following the great fire on the Mt. Morris College campus 12 April 1931. 

Neher's daughter, Dorotha Neher Brandon Williams, graduated from Manchester College in 1943.

The wife of O. W. Neher was Etha Neher. 

 

The dedicatory program, a commemorative and anniversary service of the Church of the Brethren in Mount Morris, Illinois, took place on Sunday, 18 March 1923. 

Archivist NoteThe archivist believes this came from Mt. Morris materials that were found on the top shelf of the vault within the vault admist other materials from the Neher family.  It appears as if Dorotha wrote notes on page 32 of the booklet, the last page.  Her father, Professor O. W. Neher was a professor at both Mt. Morris and Manchester College.
