This box of materials was probably collected by Archivist Emerita, Ferne Baldwin. It includes newspaper articles, publications, pieces of memorabilia and other objects.

Folder #1 - Newspaper clippings and photocopies

Indiana State University conferred graduate degrees and one receiving a degree was Robert Plummer, MS Criminology. Franklin Township Informer, 12 June 1991.

 

Mary Bombich and James Clark, two Lake County students at Manchester College, were selected for roles in the production of Shakespeare’s “Hamlet,” a production of the Tri-Alpha dramatics club.

 

Dr. R. H. Miller officiated at funeral services for Mrs. J. A. Guthrie.  Guthrie was grandmother of Dianne Fikes, a student at Manchester College. Article from the News Journal, Dec. 7.

 

Two grants totaling $4,000 awarded to Manchester College by the Du Pont Company.  17 January 1963 article.

 

Carol Stubbs to play a role in “Hamlet” at Manchester College, presented 22 February by Tri-Alpha Dramatics club.

 

Ed Johnston to play role of Bellamy in production of “The Fantasticks” at Manchester College.  Play presented by the College Tri-Alpha dramatics club as annual May Day production.

 

Martha Smeltzer to play in “Hamlet” at Manchester College, 22 February.

 

City schools employ Manchester College graduates –  In a report made by Dr. Howard Book, head of the department of education at Manchester College, 42 teachers in Fort Wayne Public Schools are graduates of Manchester College – among these are J. Wilbur Haley, Kermit Leininger, Harold Radatz, and Wilbur Searer (circa the 1960’s?).

Folder #12 – Deavel, Charlotte (Schutz)  – student receipts from Manchester College.  Charlotte  (MC alumna, Class of 1952) was the daughter of Professor J. Raymond Schutz and the wife of Professor Gary Deavel. LOCATED in Large Alumni Box #187.

 

Folder #13 – Manchester College Gets New Phone System – no date – off campus calls can go straight to any campus phone without going through campus switchboard. LOCATED IN MC General File Telephone.

 

Folder #14 – Church of the Brethren – events on campus – Events held on the Manchester College campus primarily for non-College related groups such as: Church of the Brethren Youth Conference, Church of the Brethren Annual Regional Conference, Brethren Student Christian Association Conference, Church of the Brethren Central Region Conference, 1994 November Reconciliation Retreat offered at Manchester College. Archivist Note

This particular box contains materials that were probably collected by Archivist Emerita, Ferne Baldwin. Contents include newspaper articles, publications, pieces of memorabilia and other objects.

Originally assigned the Receipt of Object Number: ROBaldwinBox2012/22 on 28 September 2012,  this collection was accessioned as MU2013/155 in December of 2013 by Jeanine Wine. Some of the descriptions were highlighted and their own finding aid was created so that they could be more easily located in a computer search.

Description updated December 2013 by Jeanine M. Wine and on 28 AUgust 2017 by J. Wine..  This description is still in process.
