Dr. Benson Onyeji served as Hawthorne Program Coordinator and the collection MU2014/163 is composed of his personal files that were obtained from the basement of the Administration Building by the Archivist during Summer 2012 office moves.

Bio History Note

The Hawthorne Program – A Lilly funded grand designed to help prepare Hispanic and African American middle school (grades 6-8) students for college.

Archivist NotePresident Jo Young Switzer asked the archivist, Jeanine Wine, to sort through files that remained in the Administration Building after the office moves of 2012 to make sure nothing of value was left behind. During the Summer of 2012 renovation of the former Holl-Kinter Hall of Science was completed and the Academic Center was the new home for many academic departments and offices.   Files regarding the Hawthorne Program had been left near Dr. Onyeji's office in the basement of the Ad Building.  Intake by Jeanine Wine, 3 October 2012. formerly ROOctober2012/29 and ROOctober2012/30.
