Bio History Note

From Lutz's letter to President Switzer regarding the Hymn to Manchester.   "It was written by Charles Klingler and myself.  It existed in an earlier form for the Manchester College Community Club.  When the college became a university we decided to reinvent the piece for the new circumstances.  The text is therefore entirely compatible with the new university designation."

Professor Lutz  told the archivist that he originally composed the song with lyrics for a 1950 class reunion and wrote the lyrics to address that specific group.  He asked Professor Klingler to rewrite the words to be current with the times.
