Bosnian Student Fundraising

Editor's Desk, Ch. 33 - 5/25/94

Liveline, Ch. 21 - 6/1/94

From the Editor's Desk - Elizabeth Keller (student at Manchester College) and Susan Winnemyr (Professor of Religion at Manchester College) report on a local intitiative in response to a national appeal.  The initiative is being carried out through the Fellowship of Reconciliation and a sister Muslim group. The appeal encourages college towns to sponsor a Bosnian who has been displaced because of war. These Bosnian students often are living in a tremendous state of danger and disorder. "Mayla" has been accepted at Manchester College and will be entering as a Sophomore and continuing her education for three more years.  $12,000 will be needed to support this project.  Appeals are being made to raise the money needed for this project.  A Manchester College  student group has made a contribution.
