Scope and Content

1. One reel-to reel tape in which Donn Starkey interviews five unidentified inmates at the Work Release Center in Indianapolis, Indiana, 4 May 1972. Prison conditions and regulations are discussed.

2. One digital copy of the recording on Archives Network [W:} in folder titled [Audio and Video Recordings Special Speakers and Interviews].

Bio History Note

Ferne Baldwin was a professor of Sociology at Manchester College.

Inmates describe the event in which guards openend fire on inmates in 1969 and 6 men were shot, 2 of which died.

 

Archivist Note

Digital recording made by MU Information Technology Services October  2013. Reel-to-reel tape discarded by Jeanine Wine November 2016 because the best possible digital copy had been made and the tape was only in a state of deterioration.
