Scope and Content

Guest books from Tall Oaks, presidential residence at Manchester University.

Guest Book #1: Guests of Tall Oaks, President Parker Marden and wife, Ann Marden - containing signatures of guests from June 1994 through April 2000.

Guest Book #2:  Guests of Tall Oaks, President Parker Marden and wife, Ann Marden - containing signatures of guests from 1 May 2000 through 3 Novemeber 2000 (no definitive ending date).

Book #3:  Tall Oaks, President Parker Marden and wife, Ann Marden - Saturday 6 December and Sunday 7 December 2003 - on the special occasion of the North Manchester Holiday Tour of Historic Homes.

Book #4: Guests of Tall Oaks, President Parker Marden and wife, Ann Marden - containing signatures of guests from 8 November 2000 through 21 October 2005.

Book #5: Guests of Tall Oaks,  President Jo Young Switzer and husband, David Switzer, containing signatures of guests from 19 November 2005 through Christmas of 2009 (no definitive ending date). President Switzer was inaugurated in September 2005.

Bio History Note

March of 1999 includes the signuatures of Coretta Scott King and daughter, Yolanda King, who had been on campus to celebrate the life of alumna, Frances Smith Thomas.

3 May 1999 offers the signature of Carlos Reyes from Managua, Nicaragua.
