Bio History Note

A heavily tooled leather cover binds this Bible that was presented to Nellie on March 16, 1891 by Father and Mother, Mr. and Mrs. J. (?) Eichholtz.

The Bible is written in English and has unusual and illustrations, some in color.  It was printed by Edgewood Publishing and contains a dictionary along with special explanatory features. The copyright is 1873 and is published by Samuel Long, Philadelphia.  However, the title page reads, King James version of 1611 and the Revised version of 1881.

What appears to be Sunday School class notes are found within the book.  Names are:

Capt. Johnson, Mrs. Johnson, Mrs. Gill, Mrs. Ream - 710 Grant St., and Mrs. Yurkes - General Delivery. A note indicates that 5 were in attendance and the offering was 5 cents.  At another occasion 7 were in attendance and there was a 10 cent offering.

An illustrated Sunday School card lists names of students and the class offering on the verso.  Names are Betty Lou Mexter, Miss Helen Stenzil, Carol Collins, Eugene Johnson, Wesley Johnson, Jacqueline Collins, Betty Lou Johnson.

Between the Old and New Testaments is found the family record.  Harold Eichholtz Wolfe was born on 6 June 1891 and Louise Agnes Wolfe was born in 1893.

A. C. Wolfe was born in New Lexinton, O on 7/18/1858 ? and Nellie Eichholtz was born in North Manchester on 10/9/1865?. They were married on 4/30/1890?  The year is just written as /65 or /58 so it is supposed that this is the 19th century since it appears children are born in the 1800's.
