Date of Accession27 August 2014
Bio History Note

Dean Genth writes, "I found this historical document of the Official Organizational Meeting for what is now Garver Hall.

I was elected the 1st Dorm Chair (or Pres.) of the Dorm which ultimately I petitioned the Bd. of Trustees after a vote by the Dorm officers to have the Hall named Garver Hall."

Students Dean Genth, Barb Hogg, and Tim Wegmiller wrote this edition of "The Dorm Reporter" to keep the residents of Northeast Hall (Garver Hall) apprised as to what the dorm government was doing.  It was to keep lines of communication open.  Various issues were discussed, such as the condition of the dorm, how to deal with complaints and violations, setting up open visitation, plans for a new TV, moving the smoking room, creating a float for May Day, etc.
