Bio History Note

It appears as if much of this correspondence is written to family during Oho and Ida's trip around the world 1927 - 1928. Often Otho will type a litter and Ida will write by hand.  Occasionally, Ida gets to use the typewriter.  Sometime they will each write part of a letter, or one will add several sentences at the end.

This collection of correspondence was originally called the Amos B. Miller Collection, but since most of the envelopes were addressed to Edith, the archivist changed the title.  Amos Miller is probably the father of Edith Miller and of Ida (Miller) Winger, and also the father of Bertha Miller Neher.

Archivist NoteProvenance: Unknown. This collection was in the Archives prior to April 2006.  Items were arranged in file folders and an accession number was created, but paperwork was not done.  This material was discovered by Archivist, Wine in Large Box 171 (IIS) titled, "Otho Winger-2," in October of 2014.  Because of the small size of the collection the letters will be placed in Small Box .  Student worker, Haley Steinhilber, continued the description of the letters (Folders 16 - 18) during the 2014-2015 academic year. NOTE: Some numbers folders from 2004 are MISSING from the collection.
