Scope and ContentThe Inner Peace Movement was not studied or approved by an official group of the Church of the Brethren. The IPM was a movement in which members reached for richer spiritual insight but also stretched the boundaries of the main line church.

"...(  ) and other leaders of the IPM are reported to have emphasized beliefs in halos or auras around the heads of all people, casting out of demons, elements of spiritism, or perhaps old-time spiritualism, guardian angels, and the necessity of dividing the church in order to purify it."
