Packet #5 - Background material for Doris' book on John Bunyan's "Pilgrims Progress." In addition: Harmonica (It is not know to whom the harmonica belonged or when it was used). Small sparkling stone (placed in metal canister for safety by archivist and might have been from Doris' time at Mount Holyoke) Diaries 1923, 1924, 1925, 1926, 1927. Note, in the front of the diaries is a space for height and weight. In 1927 Doris was 5" 2" tall and weighted 93 pounds.
Detailed hand-written travel documentary on what is probably Doris' 1961-1962 trip to Great Britain. Slides and mementos. Small notebook containing sewing samples. (In a paper outlining names, attributes and goals of students, Doris' ambition was to be a Home Economics teacher). Autograph book. Magna cum Laude, Mount Holyoke College diploma. Newspaper (in folder) with items from WWI: Button (in mylar), "Welcome Home Fighting 26th YD," bullet, envelope containing bottle of "sand" scribed, "From mines of Cloth Hall Ypres, Belgium after shelling by Germans Nov. 15 - 1914 Brought home by Capt. David E. Ford M.D. of Harvard Unit who joined the British Expeditionary Forces before U. S. entered the war. Pen. One envelope titled, "Account - Doris' 4 yrs. at Mount Holyoke" and containing an itemized list of Doris' expenses. "Class Standing" (probably from High School) - with aspirations of students. Booklet of the Congregational Church's 50th Anniversary of the New Church 1905-1955. One photograph that might be picture of the "old" church before remodeling? Weymouth High School "Reflector" publications with poem by Carl Garey (Doris' brother).
