Bio History NoteLadoska Bunker, M. D. writes in "A Medical History of North Manchester"; "We know very little of the Woodland People, so we will move on to the Indian Medicine Man.  His position was often hereditary.  Occasionally he was one who didn't want to be a brave or fight and so was permitted to take up other activities.  These men were called 'berdache' and wore women's clothes."
