Scope and Content

Correspondence dated 1963-1972, ACI articles of incorporation and by-laws, "Associated Colleges Awards Honor Five" [newspaper article], "Cargo of Educators" [newspaper article], resolution from Indiana Conference of Higher Education stating its recommendation against universal military training.  Photograph of A. Blair Helman receiving keys to station wagon from Chrysler plant manager.  These photos are now included in the files containing images in folder MC2007/145.

Bio History Note

A. Blair Helman, Manchester College President Emeritus, served as president of Manchester College from 1956-1986.

From "Associated Colleges Awards Honor Five."  The Indianapolis Star.  27 April 1977.  "Associated Colleges of Indiana was founded in 1948 to foster support for Indiana's independent colleges and universities."

In 1965, Chrysler Corporation gave thirteen vehicles to Associated Colleges of Indiana schools.  Each school was given its choice of a "station wagon, sedan or compact van."
