Aurora" yearbooks 1940, 1942, 1943 belonging to the family of Pauline Brown Carbaugh ("Polly"). These books hold many autographs and signatures. The 1943 "Aurora" contains an additional loose page that adds names to the "Index." Apparently a batch of names were accidentally overlooked when first printed.

2 letters of commendation from Paul Cannahan (Secretary of the Northern Indiana Camping Association, Inc. sponsoring Camp Pottawattomie) to MC President Vernon Schwalm, highly complimenting Polly and MC colleagues, Ruth Hanawalt, Helen Cook and Betty Pottenger, on their outstanding work as chefs at the camp during the summer of 1942. This was during WWI and the letter starts, "During this National Emergency there have been and probably will be many fine records of outstanding service rendered by the young women of America......" and he goes on to give the greatest of praise to these young women ("Heretofore, the job had required 3 competent male chefs."). Charles Carbaugh writes:

"In the 1942 Aurora I found a couple (of signatures) that were interesting to me. My father's twin brother Harley and his future wife Esther were students at the same time as my mother.  My parents met when dad visited his brother (Harley Carbaugh) on campus.  There are nice notes from both Harley and Esther to my mom."

"In the 1943 Aurora, there was a loose page.  Looks like there was an error in the printing, and the end of the "R"s and beginning of the "S"s were missing from the Personal Index.  A loose page was printed with the missing names. I thought some of the 1943 Auroras you have might be missing this page..." [This pdf file is on the Archives Network as MU2017_71].

1942 "Aurora" - pg. 117 is a picture of Charles,' "Uncle Harley."  On page 98 is a photo of Esther Borders.

The student, "Thelma Benjamin was called "Benny."  This is not Uncle Harley's future wife
