Bio History Note

On the verso of the Liberty Mills Church of the Brethren commemorative plate:

Plunge Creek was for a number of years the east house of the Eel River congregation.  In 1913 Plunge Creek separated from Eel River.  They worshipped here till April 12, 1927, when the house was destroyed by fire.  later that year the Methodist house in Liberty mills was purchased, which has been their home since then.  In 1929 the name of the congregation was changed to Liberty mills.  In 1944 extensive improvements were made and a rededication service was held.  At the present time the membership stands at 200. (undated)

Archivist NoteEberly materials were related to the Church of the Brethren, Manchester College, and what appeared to be Eberly's personal library.  The collection was divided accordingly. Description prepared 17 July 2018 by Jeanine Wine.
