Bio History Note

John Hamer, M.D., discoverer of Lassa Fever, is the son of Manchester professor, Oliver Stuart Hamer, who taught Education at Manchester College from 1931 - 1955.

John Hamer and wife, Esther Hamer, are alumni of Manchester College, as are their daughters, Harriet Hamer and Krista Hamer-Schweer.
