Notebook containing newspaper clippings and Alberto's interpretive research surrounding the retirement of Chiang Kai-shek, and the rise of Mao and the Communist party. Also included is material related to Dr. Sun Yat-sen's son, Dr. Sun Fo.

It appears as if papers written for class assignments are also included in the notebook and include topics such as: Imperialism, Mercantilism, and the Chinese Standard of Living.

CAREFUL - clippings have lost adhesion to the page and archivist replaced some old scotch tape with double-sided tape just to try to preserve order - Numerous newspaper clippings (circa 1948-1949) that are political in nature, including but not limited to, the United Nations' response to the atomic bomb, the Berlin crisis, Palestine, and the establishment of peace in the Holy Land. Other topics include but are not limited to: "Russian Pressure Points and Objectives in the East-West Conflict," the U. S. Budget, the Berlin airlift, "New Japanese Regime Shows Swing to the Right," etc. Note: Only one cover of the 3 ring notebook remained. The pages were removed and empty pages were discarded before accessioning.

Bio History Note

International Chinese student, Alberto Wong, lived with the O. Stuart Hamer family during Alberto's time at Manchester College, The collection includes a photograph, correspondence, and Alberto's research regarding the retirement of Chiang Kai-shek, and the rise of Mao and the Communist party.

Alberto Chiongchim Wong, Jr.,received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Manchester College in 1951.
