Scope and Content

One proclamation written circa 1920 describing appropriate dress for College women.  Two of the authors had either attended or were attending Manchester College.

Standards include:

Simplicity, serviceability, shoe top length, careful cut of dress necks, sensible heeled shoes, unratted hair, avoidance of rouge and excessive use of powder.

Bio History Note

This letter was found by Robert Bowman. It was among his grandmother's things.  His grandmother was Dulcie Cover.

Kathryn Forney graduated from Manchester College with a BA in 1922 (her name is misspelled as Katherine in the Alumni Directory).

Mabel Mate graduate from Manchester  College with a Normal degree in 1918.
