Scope and Content

A variety of Manchester University and WWII related materials from the personal collections of Esther and Annabel Rupel:

Folder #1 - A variety of cards from circa 1980 forward, some personally signed by Manchester presidents and administrative personnel, celebrating Esther's birthday, holidays, fundraising events, and the A Cappella Choir. Folder #2 - Manchester College promotional and fundraising materials featuring Jo Young Switzer writing about MC's Academic Program, President Robinson on, "Our Mission is Worthy," announcement of William Robinson's arrival as president, the New College Seal unveiled during Commencement 1985, "Dream of Distinction...A Lilly Endowment Challenge."

Bio History Note

Esther Rupel served as a member of Manchester College's Board of Trustees.

Corsage notes, copied from a description by Esther Rupel: Corsages were made by Esther and Alice Rupel (and others) as a fundraiser for WSSF World Student Service Fund and sold on campus for a college formal evening during winter term 1946 (?).  Motifs were cut from linoleum block print. The local florist shop commented that they did not get the remuneration that they expected.  Suzanne Eiler saved her corsage from the evening.
