Dave McFadden Inauguration

Information for Delegates

We are honored to welcome delegates from various colleges and universities to Manchester University on Friday, Nov. 7, 2014, for the inauguration of Dr. David McFadden as our 15th president. As you prepare to join us for this special event, you may find the below information helpful.

Parking
All parking areas will be available to our guests on Nov 7.  Watch for signs and for security personnel to direct you.  You are welcome to use spaces identified for visitors, faculty and staff.  Handicapped spaces are available for those with limited mobility. Golf carts will be shuttling guests from some parking areas. 

Registration
Delegates will register in the Academic Center Lobby. Register between 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. in preparation for the ceremony at 1:30 p.m. You will receive your assigned location in the processional when you register. A secure room in the Academic Center will be available for robing and for leaving your personal belongings during the ceremony.  Staff members will be present to assist you.

Academic Attire
All delegates in the academic procession are expected to wear academic attire.  If you do not have a cap and gown, please contact the school or organization you are representing to provide you with the necessary regalia.

Academic Procession
Delegates will assemble in the first floor hallway of the Academic Center for the processional to Cordier Auditorium. Please plan to arrive no later than 1 p.m. You will be assigned your location in the processional and the line will form at 1:15 p.m.

Luncheon
All delegates, along with a guest, are invited to the delegates’ luncheon at 11 a.m. on the upper level of the Jo Young Switzer Center (formerly the Union). Register online with the URL in your invitation and luncheon tickets will be mailed to you. Food service for other guests and those without reservations will also be available downstairs in the JYSC. In addition, there are various options in the town of North Manchester.

Reception
A reception will be held in the upper level of the Jo Young Switzer Center following the ceremony. Everyone is invited to celebrate the inauguration of our new president.

Hosts
There will be many hosts around campus, wearing a name badge and host ribbon, prepared to assist our guests. They are tied into a network of support services and will be pleased to assist you in any way.

Time Zone Information
Persons coming from outside Indiana are reminded that North Manchester is on Eastern Standard Time.
