Graduation

Congratulations to all who graduate this weekend.  The weather for Friday’s baccalaureate and Saturday’s graduation ceremonies looks promising.  As usual, the ITS team will stream these events on the MU website (https://www.manchester.edu/graduation/video) as well as through Facebook Live (https://www.facebook.com/ManchesterUniv/) and YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/ManchesterUniv/).  Additionally, you can watch graduation in one of several overflow rooms.

If these options aren’t appropriate for you, we’ll also broadcast the events on Channel 3 on the MU cable TV system.

New SpartanPrint

During the next two weeks, we’ll review the three vendors’ proposals.   As a reminder, the vendors are Allen Business Machines & Sharp equipment, Cannon IV & HP equipment, and Perry ProTECH & Konica-Minolta equipment.  From these proposals, the selection committee will recommend one for the Cabinet to approve.  Soon after that, we’ll negotiate an agreement and plan for the equipment’s installation during the summer months.  We will hope to have the equipment installed in July.

The selection committee will develop training (one-on-one through video and group), and the ITS Help Desk remains available for your support needs.  We’ll still use PaperCut to manage the equipment, so you can still visit https://webprint.manchester.edu to submit print jobs.

Improved Residence Hall Wireless

The ITS team has ordered the wireless equipment and mounting components to improve the wireless system in East, Garver, and Schwalm.  It’s a busy summer in these halls, but we’ll work around the rooms’ availability to complete the work before residents return.

Password Reset Reminder

We discussed this in last month’s newsletter, but it bears repeating now.  As many leave campus for the summer, it’s wise to reset your password (https://passwordreset.microsoftonline.com) before you depart so that it doesn’t expire while you’re gone.  You should also establish your self-service password reset criteria at http://aka.ms/ssprsetup.  Once set up, you can reset your own MU network password without assistance from the ITS Help Desk. 

NEVER provide your MU password to any website unless you’re sure of its authenticity.  When in doubt, please contact the ITS Help Desk (you can find contact information above).  You can see a sample, legitimate password reset reminder email below.
