Kurt Kurtzhals

 Assistant Professor of Education

Professor Kurtzhals earned a B.A. in Elementary Education from Purdue University with an endorsement in Kindergarten in 1996.  He completed his Master of Education in 2003 from Boston University, specializing in Character and Ethics Education.  After teaching in early childhood and early elementary classrooms in Indiana, Illinois, and Massachusetts for 18 years, Professor Kurtzhals returned to his North Manchester roots in 2014.  Professor Kurtzhals joined the Manchester University Education Department in 2015.  Professor Kurtzhals teaches the Introduction to Special Education course, as well as, all Mild Interventions and High Ability courses.  He also teaches Creativity in the Classroom, a course that allows him to incorporate both his love for music and his local farm into the university learning process.  Professor Kurtzhals also enjoys working with the women's basketball program at MU as a volunteer assistant coach.
