A foundation in health and wellness
A Health Promotion minor provides you a foundation in health and wellness that applies to a variety of health professions, including athletic training, fitness, teaching and therapy. You’ll explore health topics such as alcohol, tobacco and other drugs; communicable and chronic diseases; consumer and community safety; environmental health; family living; growth and development; injury prevention and safety; mental and emotional health; and nutrition and personal health.
- Service-learning experiences and extracurricular programs in health offer students the opportunity for personal and professional development. Examples of experiences in which Health Promotion minors can be involved include setting up the campus Health Fair, directing a Relay for Life cancer awareness event for the local community, and assisting with a Fitness Triathlon for area youth.
- Health Promotion students work with their professors sharing health presentations at workshops and conferences.
