Save Maumee
Grassroots Organization Canoe Clean-up- Assist participants with getting in and out of the water in canoes and kayaks; help with welcome table, serve food with Food not Bombs, collect garbage that volunteers get out of the river and put in the dumpster, direct volunteers to the appropriate locations. Other duties as assigned.

Deetz Nature Preserve

Join local and national environmental groups, Sierra Club, Nature Conservancy, Save Maumee Grassroots Organization and New Haven Parks and Recreation to help control the invasive callery pear tree in Deetz Nature Preserve . Volunteers will assist trained conservationists to clear trees, remove brush, spray herbicide (with supervision), assist with the welcome tent, direct volunteers and other assigned duties. Long sleeves, pants and gloves are recommended. Other safety gear will be provided.

Nature preserve
Seed Harvest 

Save Maumee native Seed Harvest at Little River Wetlands Project. Volunteers will be collecting native seeds that will be used to restore eroded banks along the Maumee River.

New Haven Parks and Recreation- Various jobs throughout the year, including assistance with children’s program on Saturdays, helping sweep, clean and dust the nature center, clearing trails etc. Contact me or Renee Bentz at  RBentz@newhaven.in.gov
