plaque dedication

Peace Studies Plaque Dedication

At Homecoming each year, the Peace Studies Institute honors an individual or individuals for their significant contributions toward peace and justice. Seventy-five years ago, in response to the violence and devastation of genocide and war, Manchester established the world's first peace studies program. As part of this special anniversary year, join us in the Gladdys Muir Peace Garden as we honor the powerful witness of all conscientious objectors and war resisters. A brief program will recognize individuals around the world who have refused to participate in war and have fought for its abolition. Following the dedication ceremony, we invite all peace studies alumni for a group picture to celebrate 75 years of the Peace Studies Program.

The Dragon King is ruler over all things water, and the people are beginning to wonder why he has not brought the life-giving rains in such a very long time. An underwater fantasy based on Chinese folklore, The Dragon King tells the tale of an intrepid Grandmother who journeys to the bottom of the sea. Tanglewood Marionettes provides magical performances based on classic tales and modern twists. Large, beautifully hand-crafted marionettes, colorful sets, and integrated lighting and sound create a fully immersive theatrical experience.

Summoning Spirits

Summoning Spirits is a theatrical experience that combines ghost stories with magic tricks to create the illusion of spirits live on stage. There will be goose bumps, there will be people hiding their eyes, and there will be screams. Most of all students will have a fun shared experience with their friends that will be remembered forever.
