The MU Care Fund is administered by the Staff Organizational Committee (SOC) and provides a $25 gift certificate to welcome new family members through birth or adoption and a $25 memorial gift upon the passing of a close family member. We use the HR Bereavement Leave policy and recognize the passing of family members for whom you receive 5 days off. (employee’s spouse, child, father, father-in-law, mother, mother-in-law, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, brother, sister, stepchildren, stepsiblings or grandchild) When these events occur, supervisors are encouraged to let a SOC member know or email
