David Waas ’47, professor emeritus of history, celebrated his 95th birthday on Feb. 20, 2021.

1950s

Flora Rouch ’59 Williams, M.Div., R.F.C., is professor emerita at Purdue University, a Registered Financial Consultant, ordained minister in Church of the Brethren and worldwide speaker. She taught for 32 years at Purdue, directing an award-winning crisis center, and taught at Jia Tong University, Shanghai, China; the University of California Davis; and Viscosa Federal University, Brazil. She has written 26 books and more than 100 research articles. To view her publications, visit our page of alumni authors. Awards are many. She is a concert/church musician, wife, mother of three, and grandmother of four.

1960s

Joy Warner ’68 Stiffler and Bob Stiffler of North Manchester celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Feb. 27, 2021.

1980s

Diana Roop ’84 Hart of Fort Wayne, Ind., gave over 1,300 pounds of food to a city food bank. All of the donated food was grown on her property.

Warsaw Community High School recently established the Jennifer K. Shepherd Mental Attitude Award. Jennifer Mitchell ’84 Shepherd was with Warsaw Community Schools for over 20 years as both a teacher and administrator. Jennifer also served as former director of alumni relations at Manchester University. 

1990s

Kevin Rice ’90 has been named vice president of lending at First Federal Savings Bank of Angola.

Lt. Michael Young ’90 of Portage, Ind., received his 30-year pin from the Indiana State Police. Michael serves as a district commander of the Toll Road Post.

Kyle Hupfer ’95 of Pendleton, Ind., has been named general counsel of the National Republican Committee. He will continue to serve as chair of the Indiana Republican Party.

Dr-Angela-RogersDr. Angela Rogers ’96, of Palo Alto, Calif., has been named Stanford’s Physician of the Year. An expert in pulmonary and critical care medicine at Stanford University Medical Center, she has taken care of many COVID-19 patients during the pandemic.

2010s

Emily Ashbrook ’10 has joined Adams Legal Group of Williamsport, Ind. as an associate attorney. She earned her law degree at Charleston School of Law in South Carolina.

Martin Garcia Chavez ’16 recently published one of his Ph.D. projects in American Chemical Society Publications. After Martin graduates this spring from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign with a Ph.D. in organic chemistry, he will become a senior scientist in medicinal chemistry at AbbVie Inc., a biopharmaceutical company.

Madalyn “Maddy” Minehart ’19 has been accepted into Boston University’s dual master’s program in theological studies and social work. 

Fotini Kristuli ’20 is working as a general agent for Globe Life in Atlanta, Ga. She earned her bachelor’s degree in accounting and business management.
