Manchester alumni Laurie Kenealy ’88 and Dr. Joshua Kline ’98 are the newest members of the University’s Board of Trustees. In addition, Dave Haist ’73 and J. Bentley Peters ’62 have rejoined the board after many years of service as at-large and honorary trustees.

Board chair for 2021 is John Gilmore ’74.

A native of Downers Grove, Ill., Kenealy earned a degree in economics from Manchester and a master’s degree in business administration and finance from North Central College. She is a partner in the Mackinaw Holding Corp. and owner of Alpine Wine & Spirits in Vail, Colo. She is a former multi-unit franchisee of Massage Envy and the former treasurer and chief financial officer of Novarus Wellness Concepts.

Dr. Kline is a family physician and serves as the chief medical officer for Parkview Physicians Group in Fort Wayne. A native of that city, he earned a degree in biology-chemistry from Manchester and graduated from Indiana University School of Medicine in 2003.

Kline serves on the boards of Beacon Heights Church of the Brethren and Parkview Health, and does medical mission work.

Haist is retired as executive vice president and chief operating officer of Do It Best Corp. He serves as chair of the Parkview Health Board of Directors, and as a board member or advisor to a number of companies and civic organizations.

Haist and his spouse, Sandy Cleveland ’74 Haist ’02, served as co-chairs of Manchester’s Students First! comprehensive campaign, which ended over goal in 2014.

A pastor, Peters has been president of J.B. Peters Consulting Corp., senior vice president of Mutual Aid Exchange, organizational development consultant for Advocate Health Systems, and director of ministry and senior human resource officer for the Church of the Brethren General Board.

He earned a degree in religion and philosophy from Manchester and a Master of Divinity from Bethany Theological Seminary. His wide volunteer experience includes church and other nonprofit organizations, anti-poverty programs and mental health organizations.

The board elected Gilmore to serve as chair in 2021. He earned degrees in accounting and mathematics from Manchester, a master’s in divinity from Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary and a law degree from the University of Illinois. He is retired as senior vice president and chief operating officer of Princeton Theological Seminary.
