Two words say it all about Homecoming 2016: Game On!

That’s the theme for this year’s event, which happens Oct. 7-8 and includes more than a few ways to get your game on. In addition to the Manchester-Defiance football game on Oct. 8 (1:30 p.m., Burt Stadium), the classes of 1971, ’76, ’81 ’86, ’91, ’96, 2001, ’06 and ‘11 will have reunions and luncheons.  There also will be games for kids and adults, reunions for education majors, College of Business majors, and Medical Practicum participants as well as a peace studies plaque dedication and environmental studies award presentation.

Join us for the Fifth Quarter post-game celebration on the MU track. In addition, the popular Encore Lecture Series will include presentations by current and retired faculty members, including Richard Harshbarger ’56, Robert Pettit, John Planer, Ed Miller ’56, Jeff Osborne, Jim Adams, Stacy Erickson-Pesetski, Sree Majumder and Beate Gilliar. Michael Dixon, director of intercultural services, shares plans for the new Jean Childs Young Intercultural Center, too.

And don’t miss guest alumni lecturer James Butler ’02. Butler will demonstrate the innovative Mindful Classrooms program he initiated for his pre-K students in Austin, Texas, where he was named Independent School District Teacher of the Year in 2014.

Additionally, a 25th class reunion gift will be made to The Manchester Fund. This is the second year for this new tradition.
