Jeff Beer, associate professor of exercise science and athletic training, department chair and program director of the undergraduate athletic training program, coordinated the second annual North East Sports Medicine Symposium in March.  Beer started the symposium in 2015 in conjunction with Parkview Sports Medicine. The annual symposium at the Mirro Center in Fort Wayne focused on sports medicine topics for athletic trainers, physical therapists, physicians, and strength and conditioning specialists. In all, 70 sports medicine professionals and 20 students attended.  The symposium was started to allow MU students the ability to attend and network at an annual professional development event.
