Communication studies faculty presents at convention

MU communication studies faculty will present at the Central States Communication Association annual convention in Grand Rapids, Mich., April 13-16.

Professor Mary Lahman will serve as chair for the panel “Reframing, Rejecting, and Repurposing Work/Life Boundaries through Communication.”

Assistant Professor Tim McKenna-Buchanan is the vice chair of the Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity Caucus, and will become chair during the convention. He will present “To Be or Not To Be Out in the Classroom: Exploring Communication Privacy Management Strategies of Lesbian, Gay, and Queer College Teachers” and “Our Bodies as the Foundation: Personal Health Disclosures in the Health Communication Classroom."

Assistant Professor Michelle Calka will present “Social Media, Spreadable Media, and Sharknado.”
