Haston a semifinalist for prestigious academic award

Manchester University senior quarterback Logan Haston, of Avon, Ind., is one of 135 student-athletes across the nation to be named a semifinalist for the National Football Foundation’s William V. Campbell Trophy. The trophy is named for William Campbell, a business executive and former player and coach at Columbia University. The most prestigious academic award in college football, the trophy recognizes student-athletes for academic success, football performance and exemplary community leadership.

The National Football Foundation will announce 15 finalists on Oct. 29 and each of them will receive an $18,000 scholarship for graduate studies. The finalists will travel to New York for the 58th NFF Annual Awards Dinner on Dec. 8 where the winner will have his scholarship increased to $25,000.
