Posted Nov. 1 - The Indiana Academy of Science has funded a proposal by Dennis Brown, associate professor of pharmaceutical sciences, to further research the potential of a compound in treating multiple sclerosis. The proposal is for “Optimization of dithiolethione ACDT as an anti-neuroinflammatory agent.” It is a $2,468, one-year grant.

Multiple sclerosis is an autoimmune disorder that is a potentially disabling disease of the brain and spinal cord. The immune system attacks the protective sheath (myelin) in the central nervous system.
