Community invited to watch, discuss

presidential debates at Manchester College


The public, and area youth and school classes, are invited to join the Manchester College community in three free campus Debate Watches in October. All of the televised debates begin at 9 p.m.

On Thursday, Oct. 2, is the vice presidential debate between Gov. Sarah Palin (R) and Sen. Joe Biden (D). The presidential debates between Republican Sen. John McCain and Democratic Sen. Barack Obama air on Tuesday, Oct. 7 and Wednesday, Oct. 15. All debates will last 90 minutes; discussion will follow.

The vice presidential and the Oct. 7 presidential debate will be aired in Flory Auditorium, on the second floor of the Science Center.The Oct. 15 presidential debate will be aired in the Lahman Room of the upper College Union.

Leading discussion after the debates are two members of the Manchester College faculty, Mary Lahman (communication studies) and Leonard Williams (political science).
