Manchester education students, teacher
to present at national professional conference

Four Manchester College elementary education students and their teacher will present at the 2012 national conference of the National Science Teachers Association in Indianapolis this spring.

Collaborating on Science Education – Perspectives from Teacher Candidates, the Manchester presenters will share their passion for science education at the elementary level, said their faculty mentor, Stacy Stetzel, instructor of education.

Representing each level of Manchester’s undergraduate education program on March 31: senior student teacher Amanda Chamberlin of Wilmington, Ill.; junior Rachel Nowak of Crown Point, Ind.; sophomore Josh Benefiel of Shelbyville, Ind.; and first-year Nathan Feitshans of Arcanum, Ohio.

The conference, which attracts 10,000 educators from across the nation, runs March 29 to April 1 at several Indianapolis sites. The Manchester team presents at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 31 at the JW Marriott.
