NORTH MANCHESTER, Ind. – Manchester University is proud to recognize Lisa Updike Starks on Oct. 23.
The Fort Wayne woman will receive the Young Alumni Outstanding Achievement Award during Homecoming and Family Weekend 2015.
She graduated from Manchester magna cum laude in 2003 with a bachelor of science in finance. The graduate then went on to graduate cum laude from the Robert E. McKinney School of Law (formerly Indiana University School of Law-Indianapolis).
Today, Starks is an associate in the Finance, Insolvency and Restructuring Department and the Corporate Department at Barnes & Thornburg in Fort Wayne.
She serves on Manchester University’s President Leadership Council, the Young Leaders of Northeast Indiana board of directors and the Northeast Indiana Regional Opportunities Council, among other leadership roles.
Starks was recognized as a “40 under 40” honoree by the Greater Fort Wayne Business Weekly in 2010, a Leadership in Law Up-and-Coming Lawyer by Indiana Lawyer in 2011, an ATHENA Young Professional Award nominee by the Greater Fort Wayne Chamber of Commerce and has been called a “Rising Star” in 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015 by Indiana Super Lawyers.
Groundbreaking researcher Frederick Balagaddé '01 has also been chosen to receive the Young Alumni Outstanding Achievement Award.
The Alumni Honor Award Banquet will take place at 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 23, in the Jo Young Switzer Center on the North Manchester campus. Tickets are $16 for adults, $8 for children ages 6-12 and free to children 5 years and under. To register, click here.
