New Admissions Website

Manchester has launched a new Admissions website directed toward recruiting students to Manchester, welcoming students who have already been admitted, and providing helpful resources to guide you and your student through this exciting new adventure.

The site includes several helpful sections. The “Parents and Family” section helps answer your questions and provides advice on how to be as supportive as possible to your student. In the “Life on Campus” section, a Pinterest-type display features some of the many possibilities available to your student while at Manchester. You or your student can also explore the “Degrees and Academics” page, detailing MU’s many academic opportunities. The page includes a search feature that will help you and your student find the right program.

Your biggest question may be, “How much will this cost me?” A click of the “Cost and Financial Aid” page is all that stands between you and the answers to all of your questions. If your student is a student-athlete, too, the “Spartan Athletics” page will provide useful information, including recruiting forms, for any of the sports that Manchester offers.

Knowing who you will be dealing with once you start the admissions process is important as well. That’s why we included the “Meet Your Counselor” page where geolocation will place you on our interactive map and provide you some fun facts about your admissions counselor.

The website is here to help you. Check it out at

End-of-Semester Stress

The end of the semester can put a great amount of stress on your student. Deadlines for projects are looming. Finals are fast approaching. And, for seniors, the thought of what comes next is foremost on their minds. Here are a few ways you can support your student:

  • Don’t be too overbearing, but a reassuring phone call with a lot of listening can help.
  • Send an encouraging note in the mail.
  • Affirm your student’s good decision-making skills and your faith in him or her.
  • Send a care package.
  • Encourage the use of campus resources.

Graduation Day

Graduation Day is Sunday, May 18 and fast approaching. It represents one of life’s biggest achievements for graduates and their parents. Make sure your grad orders a cap and gown by the April 1 deadline. Watch for more information regarding commencement in upcoming newsletters!
