Grad Year: 2014
Why attend MU: I decided to attend Manchester University for its small campus and one-on-one attention from professors. I was also part of the track and cross country teams for the first two years attending Manchester. North Manchester is a great community full of opportunities both on and off campus.
Favorite thing: My favorite thing about being a student here is everyone welcomes you with open arms. My advisor, Professor Oke, has helped me through many challenges and put many of those challenges in front of me. You're not just a number here, you're part of a family. My family is the art department.
Never expected: I never thought I would study in Chicago. I applied to the Chicago Center in September 2013 as a last minute decision. It was the best decision I've made during my time here. I can't wait to move in January and begin studying in Chicago! Also, I never expected to create a student club. I'm one of three co-founders and the secretary of Artists Anonymous, a club for anyone with an art and volunteering interest.
I found: At Manchester University, I found success and acceptance. I love my classes and fellow art peers. We're always challenging one another and pushing for our best work in and out of the studio. I'm grateful for numerous awards I've won to help me succeed in internships and jobs in the North Manchester community
