Homecoming 2017
Gold Rush was the theme for Homecoming 2017, and it was indeed a golden autumn day Oct. 14. Sunshine and unseasonably mild temperatures welcomed students and alums to campus for festivities that included class reunions, academic alumni gatherings and cookouts, a health fair and the Encore lecture series. Beer lands teaching honorManchester University prides itself on the passion and expertise of its instructors and its commitment to academic innovation and excellence. And it’s been regularly recognized for both of those attributes. Most recently, Jeff Beer, associate professor of exercise science and athletic training and program director of undergraduate athletic training curriculum at MU, was honored by the Indiana Athletic Training Association as its Professional Excellence in Athletic Training award winner for 2017.
From the official release: “He has hosted multiple athletic training workshops for students over the summer, mentored both undergraduate and graduate athletic training students, and has lectured at various conferences including the IATA Student Symposium and Fort Wayne Teaching Conference. Jennifer Beer notes Jeff’s love for the profession and the community. ‘Jeff’s passion for the profession, strong appreciation of athletic training education, and commitment to not only his work community but his home community make him an excellent candidate.’”
