David & Maria Huber
Dave and Maria

Dave grew up in Northern Indiana.  Maria grew up in South Texas.  They met at McPherson College, Kansas in the mid 1960’s.  Dave majored in Sociology and Business, then worked with the Federal Anti-poverty program in Southeastern Kentucky, and 36 years with a Goshen, Indiana business firm.  Maria majored in Sociology and Spanish Education and taught high school Spanish in Kentucky and Northwood High School, Nappanee, Indiana for 20 years.  Several years after retirement in 2006, they both served in BVS (Brethren Volunteer Service) for several years as hosts at the Church of the Brethren Conference Center, New Windsor, Maryland, as educators at the Heifer International ranch in Perryville, Arkansas, and as co-directors of the old Brethren Lybrook Navajo Mission in Cuba, New Mexico where Dave had spent two years before college as well.  They have 3 grown children and 6 grandchildren.


Jed Freels
Jed Freels
Jed is a singer, songwriter, teacher and businessman who lives life to the fullest. His everyday attitude is that we can never do enough good for others. His travels have taken him around the world and to all 50 United States. Jed’s interests lead him in many directions. He is a Nashville Recording artist and the Founder and Director of Auburn Actors Theater. His career in education has affected thousands of students and his education awards include distinguished honors such as Teacher of The Year and a recipient of the Lilly Endowment Inc. Jeanne Davies

JeanneJeanne has degrees from the University of Illinois in Chicago and Bethany Theological Seminary and is currently studying at Western Theological Seminary to receive a Graduate Certificate in Disability and Ministry. She feels blessed to have a daughter on the autism spectrum.

Pastor Jeanne served as an Associate Pastor with primary ministry areas of Christian education, youth ministry, and congregational nurture from 2004-2008 and again from 2012-2016. She also served as Workcamp Coordinator for the Church of the Brethren international headquarters from 2008-2011, during which time she began the We Are Able workcamp – a four-day service learning trip for young adults with intellectual disabilities. Pastor Jeanne strongly believes that all people have needs and all people are gifted and that God has created us to share our gifts in loving community. She believes the church must include everyone in order to be complete. Parables Community is her passion and joy.

Pastor Jeanne is married to Joel Davies, mom to Nora Davies, and guardian of a wheaten terrier named Finn. She enjoys exploring scripture, God, and the universe with others. She also loves singing, dancing, and spending with her family.
